Policy Briefs

These resources feature topic-based policy briefs on emerging issues of interest to the Department of Health and other government agencies, stakeholders, legislators, and/or other policy influencers and corresponding fact sheets containing key information from each brief. These are created for legislators and other stakeholders for quick reference and review. Additionally, these resources function as a means to introduce or educate on opioid-related policy issues in Pennsylvania and nationwide. Each brief introduces and describes the policy issue, detailing any regulatory history and existing related policies in Pennsylvania. Each brief also examines how other states and the federal government have addressed and regulated the issue, including any documented outcomes.
