Naloxone Program for Schools

3-12-18: The Naloxone Program for Schools sponsored by ADAPT Pharma and facilitated by the Department of Health is now closed.

The Department of Health commends schools who ordered Narcan via this program and encourages schools to continue to stock Narcan for use in the event of an overdose. More information is available on the Department of Health naloxone page.

The two approved Naloxone trainings can be accessed at www.getnaloxonenow.org or https://www.pavtn.net/act-139-training. It is also recommended to take training that is developed by the manufacturer for the specific product you are using.

Schools may reach out to their local Centralized Coordinating Entities (CCE) to apply for additional doses through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) Grant for First Responders (which includes schools).

Adapt Pharma is once again offering both public and private/non-public schools 2 free 2-dose cartons of narcan for buildings that house grades 9-12. To request your free Narcan, complete this form and submit it directly to Adapt Pharma.

If a school wishes to order Naloxone directly from Adapt Pharma please see the "Direct Purchasers" section below.

The free Narcan doses, distributed to schools by the Department of Health, expires May 31, 2018.  This was a one-time offer from Adapt Pharma through a grant awarded to Adapt Pharma by the Clinton Foundation. There are currently no plans to offer replacement doses.

Adapt Pharma has provided the following information if Pennsylvania schools wish to order additional doses of Narcan at a reduced cost if they previously obtained 2 free cartons. The below information is for both existing and new schools who wish to purchase additional or replacement doses of Narcan.
