Cambria County

Recreation Economy Committee of the Cambria Regional Chamber

Located in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania, Johnstown has a rich history as a booming steel town in the 1800s. Today, the Johnstown region is reinventing itself as a recreation destination and a Mountain Town.  Graced with four distinct seasons and stunning landscapes that blend the best of urban and rural life, our region is a visual feast year-round. Winding around the mountains and through the valleys are countless hiking, biking, and boating opportunities. Combined with the region's history and a number of world class tourist attractions, such as the Johnstown Flood Museum and the Inclined Plane, Johnstown offers something for everyone. As we work to revitalize our region, we invite you to join us to help have a meaningful, impactful change on the community.

The Recreation Economy Committee of the Cambria Regional Chamber has worked in coordination with the City of Johnstown and 1889 Jefferson Center for Population Health to create the WalkWorks route and implement WalkWorks Wednesdays in the City of Johnstown.

If you are interested in joining a walking group in Johnstown or currently belong to a walking group or other organization that is looking for a place to walk and engage in regular physical activity, please go to www.crchamber.com or contact 814-535-5156 or email leanna.bird@jefferson.edu or michael.cook@inshoretech.com for more information on the WalkWorks route.
