Acquired Brain Injury Program
The Acquired Brain Injury Program (ABIP) provides brain injury rehabilitation for individuals 18 to 25 years old who are eligible. The goal of the program is to help individuals with a non-traumatic acquired brain injury live independently in their homes and communities.
Enrolled individuals may receive no more than 12 consecutive months or $50,000 for rehabilitation services as specified in the rehabilitation service plan. Certain situations, such as moving out of state or completion of rehabilitation may cause an individual's enrollment period to end prior to the time designated in the rehabilitation plan.
Services provided by the program, through a contracted provider, include:
- Pre-admission assessment
- Service plan development
- Rehabilitation
Services are provided in day facilities (outpatient); and other home and community-based settings.
