Governor's Emergency Preparedness Summit
As the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and all of its agencies are working closely to address and respond to COVID-19, also in the forefront of our minds is the overall health and safety of all individuals and their families in Pennsylvania. Many commonwealth staff, as well as our external stakeholders and partners who participate in the Governor's Emergency Preparedness Summit, are currently engaged in similar efforts in their communities.
With that in mind, and after much deliberation between the four host agencies for the 2020 Governor's Emergency Preparedness Summit, we have decided to reschedule the summit scheduled to be held at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in the Poconos, May 18-20, 2020, to new dates in 2021.
We will share more information once we secure new 2021 dates for the Governor's Emergency Preparedness Summit. If you have questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
For general information about COVID-19, please refer to the Pennsylvania Department of Health's COVID-19 page and Facebook and Twitter pages.
The 2020 Governor's Emergency Preparedness Summit will be held at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in Mount Pocono, PA on May 18-20, 2020.
This conference is hosted by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, PA Department of Health, PA Department of Human Services and the PA Governor's Office of Homeland Security.
The summit is an opportunity for first responders, emergency preparedness professionals, health care professionals, local, state and federal partners and many others to gather to discuss the latest in the field of emergency preparedness.
This will be the second Governor's Emergency Preparedness Summit. The first summit was held in 2017. Bringing together the areas of emergency management, health, human services and homeland security under one conference helps to prevent the duplication of services, and provide a robust, informative and exciting conference for attendees.
Registration for the conference will open up in the near future. Signing up for sessions during the conference will be available later this winter.
The registration fee for the summit is $50 per person.
In addition, you will be able to book a hotel room, starting in January and the sleeping room rate is $96 per night plus taxes..
