Questions and Answers are posted

The Department of Health in conjunction with Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs, has implemented a loan repayment program.  The program supports the supply and distribution of health care practitioners where high use of opioids is evident and where a shortage of healthcare providers exists. The program allows for the opportunity to recruit and retain health care practitioners willing to serve in counties with a high prevalence of substance use disorder, as well as underserved Pennsylvania resident.  The primary purpose of the SUD LRP is to increase access to SUD treatment services.

To qualify for the SUD LRP, the applicant must be a practitioner in an eligible discipline and working for a participating site, with two years of continuous employment (full-time or half-time) immediately preceding December 31, 2019.

If selected, the applicant must agree to practice full-time or half-time at a SUD LRP-approved practice site(s) for the period of October 1, 2020, through September 30, 2022.

Applications may be submitted through the PA SUD LRP Web-Based Application link to the right.  Applications will be accepted from December 18, 2019, through January 21, 2020.
