Mid Atlantic Center for Children's Health and the Environment (MACCHE) MACCHE is one of 10 pediatric environmental health specialty units in the US. Based at Children's National Medical Center, MACCHE's services are available at no cost to those who live and work in Washington DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, and West Virginia. The center provides education and consultation on environmental health concerns for children. They are available by telephone at 1-866-622-2431.

Healthy School Environments This website provides a host of resources and information to help support healthy and productive school environments for our nation's children.
 
Safe Management of Chemicals in Schools EPA web-based tool kit helps schools and school districts start or improve their chemical management programs. These tools can be used to design programs that reduce chemical hazards. In addition, the EPA has assembled a variety of resources on the safe handling of chemicals in schools.
 
Voluntary Guidelines for Selecting Safe School Locations  These guidelines can be used to help communities protect the health of students and staff from environmental threats when selecting new locations for schools.
 
Healthy School Environments Assessment Tool (Healthy SEAT v2)  This software tool will help schools evaluate and manage their school facilities for key environmental, safety and heath issues. This tool is designed to be customized to conduct completely voluntary self-assessments of school facilities and to track and manage information on environmental conditions school by school.
 
The Green Schools Initiative Founded in 2004 by parents, this initiative works to improve the environmental health and ecological sustainability of schools in the U.S. They believe it is essential to protect children's health by: eliminating toxins; using resources sustainably; create green spaces and buildings and serve healthy food and teach stewardship. 
 
The Green Squad  A project of the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Green Squad teaches students about the relationship between their schools and environmental and health issues. The squad is designed primarily for students in grades 5 through 8. 
 
Children's Environmental Health Network  This network is a national multi-disciplinary organization whose mission is to protect the developing child from environmental health hazards and promote a healthier environment.
