Serious School Injury Statistics 
A serious school injury is defined as: Those injuries requiring EMS response or immediate care by an emergency room physician, primary care provider, medical specialist, or dentist and/or the loss of one-half day or more of school. This report includes the number of serious injuries by nature (type), time period, and location that occur to students while under school jurisdiction.
