The primary mission of the Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Program is the prevention of and the intervention in the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. Through implementation of the Program’s core functions: the management of STD service delivery, education, training, surveillance and interaction with professional health care providers and community-based organizations, the STD Program strives to insure a quality, professional and client centered approach to individuals seeking STD related health care.

STD Video Podcasts - These video podcasts summarize the important facts that you need to know about
key STDs such as syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes, and Human
papillomavirus (HPV). Each 5-7 minute video segment covers topics such disease spread, symptoms of the
infection, and ways it is treated and prevented.
STD INFORMATION FOR PHYSICIANS
PA-NEDSS- PA-NEDSS is the mandatory method
for providers and laboratories to report diseases and investigative findings to
the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) via the Internet. It replaces the
antiquated paper-based methods while simultaneously improving the timeliness
and accuracy of disease reporting.

CDC STD Treatment Guidelines - Current
recommendations for treating persons who have or are at risk for sexually
transmitted diseases, updated regularly
CDC Treatment STD Apps - The STD Treatment (Tx) Guide app is an easy-to-use reference that helps health care providers identify and treat patients for STDs. STD Tx Guide combines information from the STD Treatment Guidelines as well as MMWR updates, and features a streamlined interface so providers can access treatment and diagnostic information. The free app is available for Apple and Android devices.
Guidelines for the Laboratory Testing of STDs - Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) joint Guidelines for the Laboratory Diagnosis of
Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Treponema
pallidum in the United States.
CDC Recommendations for the Laboratory-Based Detection of Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae — 2014 - Provides new recommendations regarding optimal specimen types, the use of tests to detect rectal and oropharyngeal C. trachomatis and N. gonorrhoeae infections, and circumstances when supplemental testing is indicated.

National Network of STD Clinical Prevention Training Centers (NNPTC) - The National Network of STD Clinical Prevention Training Centers (NNPTC) is a CDC-funded group of training centers created in partnership with health departments and universities. The PTCs are dedicated to increasing the knowledge and skills of health professionals in the areas of sexual health. The NNPTC provides health professionals with a spectrum of state-of-the-art educational opportunities including experiential learning with an emphasis no treatment and prevention.

EDDIE - EDDIE
is an online tool that allows users to generate ad-hoc reports for a wide range of state data, including STDs.
CDC STD Atlas- The CDC STD Atlas was created to provide an interactive platform for accessing data collected by CDC’s National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP). This interactive tool provides CDC an effective way to disseminate data, while allowing users to observe trends and patterns by creating detailed reports, maps, and other graphics.
